Why I Don't Offer 'Love' Readings

         I sometimes get asked why I don't have any "love" readings in my shop. Short answer? I don't want to (lol). Long answer? Well strap in for a long-winded, but hopefully, uplifting explanation. In honor of Valentine's Day this month, let's talk about it.

           Love certainly does tend to be the captain of our ships. A lot of what we do is through acts of love. We get out of bed every morning for love of someone or something (ourselves included!). We move through life with love in our hearts in some shape or form. Love comes in many shapes and sizes and can look like anything - romantic, familial, platonic, soul mate, etc. We can have love for so many different things. So, when I say I don't do "love" readings, I don't do romantic love readings. My love readings are for the self.

         When I started doing readings for others, it came from a place of wanting to help individuals feel confident in their next steps, themselves, and trust in the universe/spirit/God/whatever you choose to call it. I personally would rather inspire others on a spiritual level to where they can bring their best self forward. The readings I do focus on the individual because once we are, more-or-less, comfortable with ourselves, we will attract the right people. As cliché as that is, it's cliché for a reason. When others see you living the best version of you, they want to be closer to that.

          My thought is you need to look out for you. When someone goes and seeks out a love reading, I just wonder, is the other person doing the same? Is the other person worried about what this person is thinking... feeling? Are they wondering, also, does this person truly love me? Are we meant to be? Chances are very slim to none, that both parties are seeking validation. Why waste your time, energy, and money if you are the one standing to question? I would much rather do a reading that connects you to a guide or helps you take the leap at a new opportunity. 

          Now, I do know I'm posting this at the risk of sounding bitter. I assure it doesn't come from a place of bitterness, but more a place of uplifting. I would much rather work with the energy of self-love. I want to uplift every person I work with to feel empowered in their own actions and choices. I want them to know that regardless if romantic love is present in their life or not, that they have a team, a force, of others that have their back. 

          I hope that if you are one that would like to seek validation in your love life, I understand where the feeling comes from, I do. Just, sadly, I may not be the reader for you. Which is perfectly okay! And it's also okay to want these things, you just won't find them here. 

           With all of this said, I do want to wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day! I hope that you receive every ounce of love you deserve from each relationship you pour into.
